I have always been a lover of meaningful quotes.
When I was little, I used to fill up notebook after notebook with quotes I resonated with.
And here is to me continuing the tradition.
After all, words have power and they sure can impact us.
Hence,I bring to you a monthly curation of quotes I come across during my reading journey. This one being my January 2025 Edition!

“You are my best friend.
In life. In death.
And everything in between.”
― Victoria Schwab, Tunnel of Bones
This one has so much potential in being a nice caption for a picture with my best friend. 😛 Had to note it down.

“Language is the most valuable currency.”
― Victoria Schwab, Tunnel of Bones
I get such wanderlust vibes with this one. Also I am hoping to refine my French before I make that trip and can totally relate to this one.

“Stop punishing yourself for being someone with a heart. You cannot protect yourself from suffering. To live is to grieve. You are not protecting yourself by shutting yourself off from the world. You are limiting yourself.”
― Leigh Bardugo, King of Scars
Some self advice I need to give myself!

“The monster is me and I am the monster.”
― Leigh Bardugo, King of Scars
On those dark days, when the light can’t seep in.

“Most women suffer thorns for the sake of the flowers, but we who wield power adorn ourselves with flowers to hide the sting of our thorns”
― Leigh Bardugo, King of Scars
I like how feminist this quote is!

“They would build a new world together. But first they had to burn the old one down.”
― Leigh Bardugo, King of Scars
I know a lot of people including me that holds on to the past and wont let go without first screeching their nails through it

“Hope was the wind that came from nowhere to fill your sails and carry you home.”
― Leigh Bardugo, King of Scars
Some mandatory philosophy!

“this is how you smile to someone you don’t like too much; this is how you smile to someone you don’t like at all; this is how you smile to someone you like completely; this is how you set a table for tea; this is how you set a table for dinner; this is how you set a table for dinner with an important guest; this is how you set a table for lunch; this is how you set a table for breakfast; this is how to behave in the presence of men who don’t know you very well, and this way they won’t recognize immediately the slut I have warned you against becoming;”
― Jamaica Kincaid, At the Bottom of the River
I read this in my Mom’s Voice!

“To the stars who listen—and the dreams that are answered.”
― Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Mist and Fury
I am going to toast to this one day!

“I was burning through books every day – stories about people and places I’d never heard of. They were perhaps the only thing that kept me from teetering into utter despair.”
― Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Mist and Fury
Story of my Life!

“Kindness can thrive even amongst cruelty.”
― Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Wings and Ruin
Amen!

“Leave this world… a better place than how you found it.”
― Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Wings and Ruin
If only everyone can follow this

“There are many types of strength beyond the ability to wield a blade and end lives.”
― Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Wings and Ruin
The world needs to know this.

― Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Wings and Ruin
