Towards the end of our trip, we took a day to chill by the Beach at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. We ended up lazing around for half a day soaking up the sun, swimming in the sea and goofing around while we ignored the fact our short vacation was now coming to an end and in a few days we had to get back to our individual routines. 🙁

To be honest, this wasn’t the first beach I visited in UAE. The La Mer beach I visited on the first day even though absolutely serene seemed touristy and over crowded with people. Hence, arriving at this not so crowded beach in Abu Dhabi made us change our plans for the day and just truly enjoy the moment.

After spending more than a year away from the sea. I was ecstatic to spend a day chilling by the beach. It was like the mermaid in me had found her way back home. 😛
If it isn’t obvious by now, I am a total beach person. I love hiking and the mountains and everything else. But Beaches get me in my element and I have always been the happiest on the beach! 😛

So here I am trying to seize the moment with a black and white photo and hope that time stands still.

Lounging In The Sun

This was an unplanned trip to the beach. So we ended up going for a quick run to the market area to buy us some swimsuits. Because why not? 😛
There are a few shops on the beach though if you are in the mood to spend a fortune. 🙂

As we went there during the week, we were lucky enough to get a ticket at 50 AED each but the prices do double on weekends which justified the almost deserted beach to me.

I found a sweet spot to lounge along the beach and settled in to get some relaxing beach reading session. It was a bright sunny day and I wanted to soak up all the sun I missed living in UK. The loungers were inclusive in the ticket price along with beach towels and is subject to availability. Although, as you can see, we were spoiled for choice. 😛

There were restaurant staff roaming around the loungers and we decided to go for a beverage before we headed into the water. Not so surprising to find Sheesha being sold as well. But, I had enough of Sheesha to last a life time in the two weeks I stayed in UAE and decided to take a break. 😛

White Sands & Crytal Clear Water

After swimming in the clear blue water for what felt like ages, we had successfully achieved the natural beach hair. Although, we had an amazing time goofing around and just lazily swimming around in circles. The beach had a lot to offer with water sports.
Not fancying any kind of activity, and going for the lazy vacation day vibe we chose to be in our own company.

A Tranquil Getaway

The Important Stuff

A. Yas Beach is open everyday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
B. Take your own swim suit, as there are changing rooms available and the shops on the beach are too pricey.

Unlike other tourist attractions in UAE, Yas Beach sort of felt like an off the beaten path kind of place. We enjoyed the laid back vibe this place had to offer after getting enough of the crowded tourist spots in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
